The Upper Midwest Folk Fiddlers (UMFF) is group started and run by Clawhammer Mike. The group seeks to preserve, teach and perform the mostly forgotten historical fiddle music of the Upper Midwest. There are thre chapters across the state of Minnesota: Saint Paul, Duluth and Moorhead. The Saint Paul chapter has met weekly since 2018 (Covid aside) and play through the 137 tune book Mike self published called- Upper Midwest Folk Fiddlers Tunebook Volume #1.

They have performed and played for various dances at places like the Minnesota State Fair, Tapestry Folk Dance Center, Duluth Stammen...etc
UMFF is always welcoming to new members and wants to start more chapter across the Upper Midwest. The main chapter in Saint Paul meets weekly at this time on Tues. nights at a rec center in Saint Paul. Please reach out for more details.
